An upper and lower engine coolant thermostat housing assembly with thermostat and coolant temperature sensor for the Ford Explorer, Explorer Sport Trac and Mercury Mountaineer with the 4.0L V6. It controls coolant flow to keep the engine at the right operating temperature. A failing thermostat or cracked housing often causes coolant leaks, overheating, slow warm-up or a check engine light.
