This is a black engine coolant thermostat housing assembly (outlet type) with thermostat and seal for the Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler with the V6 3.6L engine. The housing holds the thermostat, which controls coolant flow so the engine warms up quickly and stays at the right temperature. A failing housing or thermostat usually shows up as coolant leaks around the housing, overheating, a temperature gauge that swings or stays low, or weak cabin heat.
