This is a radiator cooling fan motor for a wide range of 1980-2005 GM cars, vans and minivans, plus select Geo and Isuzu models. The motor spins the electric cooling fan that pulls air through the radiator at low speed and idle. A failing fan motor usually shows up as overheating in traffic or at idle, a fan that does not come on, a fan that runs slowly or makes noise, or a blown fan fuse.
